Ordering Macbook Pro in Student Discount!

Hi, Im from India and Im looking to order a Macbook Pro 2.6GHz customized retina 15 inch through Apple website and avail the student discount too of 200$.


Can I customize and place the order on Apple website with my Indian credit card, but delivery address to be my friend's home address in Ohio ?

Since he is coming in November last week, I was thinking to order this week.

Let me know, whats the process.

Just try the checkout process until the last page, then don't confirm the order. If you encounter any issue then you will know before you complete the checkout.

Are you sure, it comes from China ?
Because, Apple says, it takes them only 6 days to deliver the customised Macbook Pro too.

So, I doubt if it happens at China.

And I dont think, there is any way I can ask them to send from China to India.

If that is the case, I can fly to China and get it immediately.

Yeah they come from Shanghai.

They all start in Shanghai. Not sure if you would be able to pick it up though

They are FedEx tracking code's I think.
Maybe you should call Apple and explain you situation. As I don't know if they would allow you to pick up your order straight from the factory

Apple ships customized Macs directly off the production line in China. Standard Macs usually come from your own country if they are available in one of their warehouses.

Flying to Shanghai and getting it there won't save you any money, and will cost you additional money due to the plane ticket, so I don't see how it would be smart to go there.

I don't think warehouses have custom macbook's in stock, so I don't think it will be possible to walk in a store and walk out with a custom rMBP.

Calling Apple will be your best shot I guess.

Can't you let it ship to your sister as she lives in Shanghai? Or did I misunderstood that?

I can do that! But will apple USA website let me enter the shanghai address to deliver the custom MacBook ?

If yes, then I will immediately order and ship it to her shanghai address .

And when I try to contact apple live chat, it says only for USA . Damn

Generally speaking, Apple only allows sales from Country A's website for sales to Country A addresses using Country A's website. India for India, US for US, China for China, etc.

Apple's website lists the following. Don't know if it's for bulk sales or not:
