I can't be bothered standing in a queue for the 5S so will most likely try online ordering.
But I like walking into a store if my phone develops a fault.
Can I still do this if I buy online?

If you go to an Apple store, then yeah. Not like any of the other retailers will have any idea how to service Apple devices, tbh.

Well you can't just walk into a store. What you can do is make an appointment at the Genius Bar in your local Apple store on Apple's web site and take it there. Most likely they will just swap it out with a brown box replacement.
