organizing contacts with only first name

is there a way to have the contacts set up so its only by first letter of first name? i have some with last names and thats kinda annoying how it organizes them by the last name. thanks

Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars and scroll down to the Contacts section and tap on "Sort Order" and select "First, Last".
