Is it possible to Merge *and* move?

when i'm merging several subfolders on USB drive, move is allot faster,. But i when I "merge" by holding down OPTION, it copies it,which means its slow. And then I manually delete the former after..

Each main folder i'm merging is around 3 Gig in size.

The ditto command says it merges contents.

rsync probably could also do the trick.

Tested...Seems it moves on internal drive only, but on external, merging doesn't delete original. Good one Apple I'll try rsync
