Original iPad

My wife uses my old original iPad. When going into email to type something in the body of the email the keyboard shows up in the middle of the screen. The keyboard usually remains at the bottom when typing something, but the keyboard now shows up in the center. She can still type the message and send it.How can I get the virtual keyboard to get back onto the bottom again?

Hold the bottom right button on the keyboard and drag down.
