Original iPhone Pre-paid - AT&T rate increases?

I have the original iPhone set up as pre-paid. I just got 2 texts from AT&T saying :

AT&T Free Msg: Text/IM rate will increase on 11/12/08 to $.20 per message sent/received. Save with messaging pkg rates as low as $.01/msg.

AT&T Free Msg: Unlimited MEdiaNet packages will no longer be available as of 11/12/2008. 1, 5 and 10MB MEdiaNet packages still available.


My question is - is this just a general message for all pre-paid phones or just the iPhone?

That's across all of the GoPhone plans. It was announced quite a while ago. I personally went through and stocked up on the unlimited MediaNet packages through the end of next year.

AT&T should took these kind of action loooong time ago!

I feel ripped off when others use data $10 cheaper and cheap plans.

Now they at least increased text rate and stopped unlimited data, I feel

little better. I know this sounds selfish but whatever.

I heard that extending unlimited medianet plan would get canceld and money

to be refunded.
