I had a very basic home network: a MBP connected to the single GbE port on my wireless router, and a Mac mini connected to the 10/100 port (although it's a GbE-equipped mini). Both Macs are running 10.15.7
It all worked perfectly. The mini has an external USB drive called Media 2, and I could mount it on the MBP over the network and have full read/write access.
Today I installed a basic Netgear GbE switch so that both Macs could be connected to the GbE port on the router.
It's all working just fine, except that now I can't mount Media 2 on the MBP any more. I can see it when I connect to the Mac mini, but when I try to mount it I get this box:
I have full network access to both of the internal drives on the mini, it's just that USB that's the problem.
If I use the MBP to control the mini via screen share, I can copy from Media 2 to the MBP, I just can't access Media 2 directly from the MBP.
I've Googled around, and the two most common fixes for this problem - relaunching the Finder and logging out/back in - have not worked.
Any advice welcome!
