Hi all, and thanks in advance for any advice, info etc. I have uncovered a large stash of old vintage computing items. Long story short, my father was trained in Electronic Warfare during his stay in Vietnam. Obviously, about the only ones with computers in the mid 60's were the military and other Gov agencies. Upon his return he entered the industry, or what there was of one in late 60's early 70's, and subscribed to numerous Newsletters, Magazines etc. Similarly he also built a number of computers up and until they became commercially available and superior in performance to his. He continued doing this until his early death in 1986. Prior to his death, of course, he built a TV Bookcase unit with a large cavity running the length off the wall 12-16 ft. In the cavity he placed all of his computer related documents etc. Its a lot and just still at the tip of the iceberg. In sum, my Mother has delegated the TASK of determining value and offering for sale. Currently have some listed on E-Bay: Dr. Dobb's, Micro, ROM Vol 1 Iss. 1 and some OSI (Ohio Scientific) related newsletters. Have ran into some Apple related items that I would appreciate opinions of value if any.
Anyway, all items are Like New in the literal sense:
1) Original Apple Mini Manual, the Green three hole punched one, supposedly only 1000 give or take were mimeographed. Similarly they, Apple, later produced a more professional manual that they sent to everyone who had purchased a Board etc to date. I know this has value, but hundred, hundreds, or maybe even thousand? Went ahead and listed as thought Market would set the price etc. was smart enough to put a reserve. Opinions as to rarity, origin (taken from History of Apple II and Wikipedia: Apple II), and obviously value?
2) Have all Bytes from Newsletter days up through 86 or 87. First ever Apple Ad, and please correct me if I am wrong or your memory differs, ran in July 77 issue of Byte. Know it has value, but unsure as to reasonable price to ask etc.
Again thanks in advance, I will almost surely return as I am about to go to Moms and dig a bit deeper and see what I find and bring home. Take Care, Mike
