Originals file for accessing photos

Hello all - I noticed that in the past year or so, my photos in the Original file are now being stored under the date they are added - whereas previously they were stored under the event that I had saved them under. Does anyone know how I can remedy this ? I back up all my photos from the Originals file, so it's time consuming to have to go through and sort them every time.

Is this inside the iPhoto Library? Or using some other photo management software.

If iPhoto: you shouldn't really go inside the Library file and sort the photos yourself. Use iPhoto itself to manage your photos and not the Finder.
