Hi-
I recently wanted to install iWork'08 on my iMac (20"/G5/2GB Ram/370GB Hard Drive). I was told that I needed to upgrade my OS to 10.4.10 and upgrade Quicktime to 7.2.

I went to Software Update, downloaded and installed the OS update. But when I tried to upgrade Quicktime, the installer quit at about halfway in the writing files step and I get a message that there was an error and the installation was stopped. I've tried it many times, tried deleting and installing, repaired permissions, used disk utility to repair my disk. All to no avail.

Of course iTunes doesn't work properly either (music and radio OK, but clicking on any video content shuts iTunes down). And there seem to be some other odd behaviors.

Possibly unrelated are some program launch failure messages I get now. They all say there's a shared library error "...<CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound><>"

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
