OS 3.0, arrange contacts?

how can i arrange the contacts in my phone by last name, like i had them in 2.2.1?
also, i seemed to have lost all the contacts on my phone...i thought they were stored in the SIM card? is there anyway to "install" them in my contacts list from the card?

You don't have your contacts backed up on your Mac/PC ??

To import from your SIM card:
Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Import SIM Contacts

To sort them is right above that option.

Download the my.memova Contact Sync app, its free and will upload it to their server. That saved my butt today. I would have lost all my contacts if I didn't have that app.

They should have been saved if you restored the phone from backup. Or you should have them synced with your computer? or MobileMe?

no, none of my contacts were backed up onto my PC before hand, stupid i know.

and apparently none of my contacts are in my sim card? because i imported and none were added..

You can pull contacts from SIMs, but not put them on (in the iPhone). So, unless you had stored them on there from some other device they wouldn't be there.
