OS 3.0: Is the problem with the read/unread status of mails not updating resolved?

I wonder if anyone can tell me if the issue with the Iphone not updating the read/unread status of mails is resolved in 3.0. It's kinda annoying to have to open the mail.app to get the mails to appear as read on the iphone.
