Why does my Mac speed up and slow down at will since I went to 9.2.2

I have done all the good things like Norton complete and desktop re-builds and the old girl here seems to have a mind of her own depending on the time of day or ?... sometimes she is quite fast... others, a dog. Same apps, same site on the net, everything is the same except her behaviour towards them.

As an example; I have set browser cache at 0 and no diff. Browser RAM is 174mb... no diff... virtual at 332 no diff... virtual at 321... no diff...
I use Explorer 5.1... Netscape is just dog-slow at the best of times...
I have 320 Mb of RAM, a PCI 100 Net card and a Radeon 7000 32 mb card.

Is this a 9.1 - 9.2 upgrade thing? Should I go back to 9.1 or just kick back to 7.6... or 8.6?

Any and all "old" insight is appreciated. I dare not try OSX in this thing without the G4 800 card... soon...

Thanks in advance... I will try anything as Macs are indestructable...
