OS 9 driver?

I thought I remember that when you install OS 10.3, if you want to install os 9 laster there was an option you had to check, where is that when you are installing? Or was that a previous version of os 10? Pretty sure it was 10.3, maybe it was when you format the drive you have to check it, I forget.
