OS Health check and improvement?

Hey guys,

Been using macbook for half a year now and from time to time I experience different glitches. I think my system is ready for some kind of "health check".

Can u plz suggest any utilities that can check/fix any possible issues with my OS?

to name just one - Chrome freezes from time to time and this started just recently.. reinstall did not help.

OnyX is a free app that can do some system maintenance for you,
other than that, run repair permissions and verfify system disk in Disk Utility

Sounds like a RAM problem. WebKit or WebKit2 based browsers need at least 4 GB installed RAM, especially if you use other RAM-intensive apps.

You can verify the health status of your Mac hard drive using disk utility or if you wish to use third party tool you can use Volume repair.
