OS install problem on MacBook Air

Some how the installation is stopped by a strange hardware error.
The progress bar gets "digitized" when there are 12 min. left of the installation.
Have anyone seen something like this on the AIR?

 
Before you tried to install OSX, did you erase the hard drive? I think my first step would be going into Disc Utility and just wiping the drive clean, and then start again.
 
Hmmm....not sure then. If you have an Air, then I'm assuming you are using either the USB stick that came with the machine or a bootable copy of OSX you made yourself. If it's the latter, then there could be something wrong with the copy you made.
