Recently, when I go to print to my network HP printer from my Macbook Pro (Mavericks), the window "searching for the printer" shows up, searches, and then "stopped, unable to write print data: broken pipe." The HP Laserjet is connected via ethernet directly to the home router. It has a static IP address and I can login into the GUI via it's IP address just fine. BUT, after I send a document to the printer on this computer, the printer goes offline until I turn it off and turn it back on. I thought it might be something with the printer, but using another Macbook Pro (exact same 2008 model and running Mavericks), it prints just fine.

I have reset printers, completely removed the drivers, reinstalled drivers, even copy/pasted "library/printers" from the working machine, to no avail.

Has anybody ever had an issue like this? I cannot for the life of me troubleshoot the problem! Thanks!

After having this problem for over a week, I JUST found out it is a problem with Adobe Acrobat XI. It prints in Preview just fine! Now what is wrong with Acrobat Pro!?
