OS masking in safari or firefox

anyone know where I can get an extension for either safari or firefox to mask my OS and make the website think I have windows?

Christien, if you enable the debug menu in Safari, you can do it without an extension. However, it has almost never worked to allow me to view a site when they insist on MSIE -- I presume because of ActiveX content.

You can do this in terminal by typing:

defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1

Or you can use PithHelmet or several other plugins to give it to you (all of which have some other primary purpose). Once you enable it, the option is called "User Agent," near the bottom of the debug menu.

I assume you have Panther?

Download/Install/Open Safari Enhancer

Enable the Debugging Menu.

In Safari, choose Debug > User Agent and pick the one you want to masquerade as.

You can also enable debug menu using Terminal.
