OS Mojave - 2017 i5 iMac - bit of a hiccup

My update to OS Mojave last night has failed miserably and bricked my iMac

I’m going that the current restore from my TM will sort it out so I can get it working again and will try the update thereafter

Any one have any ideas what may have caused this?

My iMac was brand new in March 2018; it’s an i5 27” 5k iMac running 16GB RAM/1TB FusionDrive and fully OEM (ie. no Bootcamp installed etc)

Loaded; finally

It started at 8pm last night and hadn't moved when I got to my iMac again at 7am this morning

Had to force it to restart and have done a fresh install of Mojave and then restored from my TM thereafter

All back to normal bar it now running Mojave and in the dark mode

Hope this may help someone; but I've no idea why it froze my iMac!
