OS updates takes FOREVER...

Why is it that my 2015 (m3) and 2016 (m5) 12" MacBook takes FOREVER to update OS software? OS X 10.11.6 took nearly 15 min. to install. My network speed is 180Mbps down. The download was fast, but the install was molasses... It adds to the pain when Apple wants your iCloud password at startup (terrible user experience).

Is yours the same?
