OS upgrade now headphones no work?

I have a pair of Skullcandy headphones that are just a few weeks old (not sure of the model). I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to 4.2.1 a few days ago now the volume buttons on the wire no longer control the phone's volume. Anyone else see this? WTFM8?
