My trusty Tiger (10.4.11) is now getting a little buggy, and I was wondering if anyone would be able to predict the outcome of me trying to install Leopard over this somewhat glitchy OS?

Will Leopard replace the system smoothly, or do I need to erase and restore...

Many thanks

Unless you really want to upgrade, try a clean install of Tiger. I did it to mine recently and it's working like it should once again.

Now that I'm no longer such a OS X noob, I can probably keep it running smoothly for some time to come.

In any case, if it's glitchy, slow, or seems messed up, I would back up everything I need, format and do a clean installation.

Nice one

Thank you chaps. I think I'll try the archive & install option, and see what happens.

Cheers.
