Hi all,

Had a question about my mid 2014 Macbook Pro. After erasing the computer, when I went to reinstall the OS, it told me it was unable to because there is an unrepairable error with the hard drive, something having to do with SMART. In using this computer, I had never had any issues previously, is it possible this is a false alarm? Has anyone ever come across this and fixed it without having to replace the hard drive?

Thanks,

Feech

How did you "erase" the drive?
Did you use "the recovery partition"?
Or did you use "internet recovery"?

These ARE NOT the same thing.
