OS won't let me transfer files from MBAir to iMac, unless...

...unless I update my [new to me] 2015 iMac to High Sierra just like I did with MBAir.

Well, that's not happening! I had another thread explaining how by doing this on my laptop, ALL my notes in iCloud vanished! My new iMac is not going to be infected by that bs.

I had to move my iTunes music the old fashioned way. MBAir --> external hard drive --> iMac.
Guess I'll have to do that to all my files.
