As I was showing someone how you can select which OS you want to start up with I accidentally deselected my 10.4 OS and now I get the flashing folder/question mark when I start up.
I have tried all the start up key commands in order to locate my OS, the main problem is that my DVD-ROM stopped working after 2 months and I didn't get it fixed when it was on warranty.
So as I see it my options are: to buy a new DVD-ROM(which I can't right now) and boot off the install disk, Have the apple squad re format it(not preferable), attempt to boot off of a USB Drive(not sure if that will work), or boot off of something else(network, second computer, external DVD).
I would be grateful for any shortcuts, opinions, or advice. I realize this is a stupid problem to have but I have to think someone else has encountered this before. Thanks for the help.
btw: MacBook Pro
OS X 10.4.11
