I just got a new unibody MacBook, and, as much as I love that machine, I have to say that the new theme of OS X 10.5 is really ugly. I hate the transparent menu, the 3D dock, and the large drop-shadow of the windows (have Apple fired all their UI designers recently?). In my opinion, OS X 10.5 looks much worse than 10.4 (which I'm using on my Powerbook). For the 3D dock, I've found a setting to change it back to the 10.4 look, but the fix for the transparent menu seems to be to use a unicolor background? And I can't find any fix for the huge shadow... do you guys have some hints on how to make OS X 10.5 look nicer again?

System Preferences -> Desktop & Screen Savers -> Translucent Menu Bar

Is that what you are looking for?

You'll start to like it. I liked Tiger too, but after using Leopard for a coupe of months since its release, I love it.
