Hey I just updated my Mid 2010 Unibody Macbook from 10.9.3 to 10.9.4. It has a SSD and 8GB ram. It was very fast before the update, now after the update it is pretty much unusable. Every time I try to open up Mail, Safari, etc, It just spins the beach ball, and then I have to do a force shutdown. What's wrong with 10.9.4? I can't even open up a finder window! :( I had no problems at all with 10.9.3.

same here, when copying deleting large files from external drive... beach-balls sometimes, and never resumes.... it freezes completely, no keyboard, mouse just beach-ball, i must force shut down which may not be good for hd.

Yeah, I really need help with this! Perhaps someone knows how to downgrade??

Do a PRAM reset.

Then to boot into recovey mode, repair disk and permission.

If still nil help. The next step will by re-install the OSX.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. What I ended up doing was just re-installing os x. Now it works fine! Not sure what's up with 10.9.4, but if anybody knows, please share!
