OS X 10.9.5 icloud contacts are listed but empty

Hi

I hope this is in the correct place.

I noticed a couple of days back that even though all my icloud contacts are listed on my mac, their contents are empty. So if you click on the contact, nothing is displayed. The list is there, but the details in each card are missing.

Now I can see all my contacts on my Iphone.

I tried to log into Icloud from the mac but I got this:

Http/1.1 Service Unavailable

Is this the problem?
