OS X 3.9 Loading witohut Dock and Very VERY Slowly - HELP!

Hi All,

My dad's G4 has gone a bit funny, he was runnign photoshop and then it started running very slowly, then upon reboot it was missing the dock and still running very slowly!

I looked at the prefs, rebooted a few times, relaunced finder, any idea as to what I can do nex to try and fix it?

Well, start by creating a new user account and check if the slowness carries over to that. Does he have any theme changers installed? Any third party hacks installed?
