My hard drive crashed and died, and I took my MacBook to the Genius Bar (AppleCare!) for fixing. Pretty simple enough: the HD was fried, so they put a new one in and re-installed OS X.

Problem is that when I tried installing something, I had no idea what the password is! I had no idea what they changed it to, and I tried googling around on my iphone a bit to see if the genius bar sets a default, but no dice.

So, I put in the OS X install disc and changed the base password.

Now, I still get OS X prompts:

1. When I log-in, upon startup, it still asks me for my password

2. In general, the computer asks me for my password more often than normal. When I load up Safari, it always asks me for the "login_renamed_2" password and it also prompts me at other times.

I'm leaning toward re-wiping everything with my OS X disc and starting fresh once more, but I'd like to know if there's a fix.

Thanks.
