Dear all you lovely macrumors readers,

I am wondering whether it is possible to install Leopard onto an old whitebook from the disk I received with my new alubook?

Thanks.

No, the disk is both legally and in terms of the software locked to the model / generation with which it was provided. If you boot your old Macbook with it, it will refuse to install.

(Only the "retail" discs -- the ones that are black and have an X on them -- and some of the drop-in-box update discs allow for updating any kind of Mac).
