Well guys i just bought the new macbook air 13" a few weeks ago and ihave another mac at home that is totally capable of having OS X Lion installed in it.. but my question is that is it possible for me to have a free copy of lion on the old macbook... knowing that i just bought the new computer. Or would i have to pay for it also?

Yup, you just have to use the same AppleID in you AppStore settings on both machines. I installed it on my MBP and my wife's MacBook for $29.99.
