I've got a OS X Lion server, when I go into Server.app I have one network user which shows the globe then I have my account which doesn't show a globe. Is there a way to make the account available for network login?

So locally I have edricksmith as an account so in workgroup I can't create that user even though it's not a network user it exists locally.

Edricksmith is an account stored in your server's local directory. You'd basically need to create a new administrator account on your server in the Users & Groups preference, delete the edricksmith account, and then recreate it in your network directory. On servers there is generally an administrator called "Local Administrator" or something of the likes and that is used for controlling the server locally (not a personal account or an account that needs to be logged into on the network). Hope this helps!
