Hey guys. Does the green plus sign on the top left of every window (the basic equivalent to the Windows maximize button) have a name? Because I'm trying to make a keyboard/touchpad shortcut for it, but I need to know it's name.

Thanks;)

I think you could call it the "fit to content" button.

The green "+" button doesn't exactly maximize the window, but rather makes the window maximize to fit all the content within it. So, rather than making Safari full screen, clicking the button will increase the size of the window to fit all the information for the webpage you're looking at.

Make sense? It's not exactly maximize, but for the sake of what you're doing, I think it'd be okay to call it that.

Yea, I know that's what it does I just didn't know what to call it :p

Oh and in case anyone was working, "fit to content" doesn't work. Zoom does :)

It's called the "Zoom" button. You can see this in some applications, which have a Zoom option in the window menu. FireFox and iTunes come to mind. And it's been called that since System 7 as far as I can remember and I always wondered why too :)
