So, I just accidentally sent a print job to an office printer - while sitting on my couch at home with my MacBook. I decided to open up my wireless Deskjet 6800 from Print & Fax in System Preferences and see if I could drag the job from one printer to the other. Of course! As soon as I dopped in the correct queue it started printing :D I don't think you can do that in Windows...

Just another reason why I will always love OS X :)

Nice OS X moment.

interesting drag and drop, never tried on windows, normally just halt the current on, and then print to another one.

That's actually a pretty useful tip for me (and my iBook). Between home, school, and work, I get my printers mixed up fairly often :( .

to me, the coolest part is that you can print to printers that aren't even on your network! how'd you set that up?

if the printer has public IP and is shared. but the idea of anybody can print to another private network printer is risky and strange. I doubt that was what he did.

No, I sent the job to a printer that's setup for the office. The job just went nowhere. That's when I decided to try the drag and drop thingy ;)

Possibly the hidden power of "Rendevouz " ...
My daughter's 1st semester @University... they have mandatory classes for accessing & downloading software in order to access the network.
Then ... with all the newbies fiddling with their PC's... she just opened her MacBook and was instantly connected... end of class !
