I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of password encryption was used on OS X by default and if it can be changed? I am trying to get a machine I have running 10.4 to authenticate to an OpenBSD server running NIS. I can see the server and connect to it but i cannot authenticate users. The OpenBSD server is using blowfish encryption and I'm assuming this is the problem.
