Hi there, I’ve got a Mac mini with a bit of an issue. It’s an intel version 2.0ghz. I picked it up from a friend who used it mainly for surfing the net. It has a wireless mouse and keyboard.

When I started connecting things (ipod and HTC phone) via the USB ports they worked fine for a while (maybe 10-15 mins) but then the mac acts like they are not connected. It takes a reboot for them to be recognised again.

Before I go the mac my mate updated the OS for me, would this be the source of the problem or is it likely to be something much more problematic? I have now realised that the install discs are scratched as well. So I am going to buy a new OS disc.

Do you reckon if I bought a new disc it would solve this or could it be a hardware problem?

Thanks

In advance.

Mky.
