Hey Guys,

I just bought a new 500gb HDD WD scorpio blue and new 13" mbp, and i immediatly swapped the drive. I then put the OS X reinstall cd into the drive and turned it on, followed a few of the prompts, but when i get to the screen that says "select a destination to install mac os x" my HD doesnt show up, its just blank. i check the connection and all and it seems alright.

any ideas, am i mising anything?

thanks.

Can you see the drive in disk utility on the left side bar? (you can access disk utility from the menu bar when booted from the install disc.)

You need to format the drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) in Disk Utility through the Utilities menu at the top toolbar once you boot off the install DVD.

thanks so much for your help guys, im at disk utility, it shows up ont he left, wut now?
