Hi,
So now that OS X Server is free for paid iOS Developers, I felt that this post would be appropriate.
So, I installed OS X Server on my work laptop(Mavericks) and keep all services off unless I need to test something. So, I am working on an XMPP iPhone app, and do not have full access to production or development test servers away from the office. I am trying to run the app on a local messages server using OS X Server. I turned on Messages and created test users. Messages app is able to connect fine, but I cannot connect using any other Jabber/XMPP client. I have tried using Adium on my local Mac and ChatSecure on my iPhone connected to the network.
Is the OS X Server Messages different from XMPP('cause that's not what
says)? Do I need to enable a DNS server for such a basic service? I looked online and nobody mentions needing to enable the DNS Server.
Thanks,
Ahan
