OS X Startup logo transition gone !

Hi,

I noticed that recently (maybe when I upgraded to 10.9 ?) that I lost the transition that goes from the OS X apple logo to the desktop, and in between, I have a blackscreen instead for a few seconds.

any way to fix that ? I liked the transition from the Apple logo to the desktop, and I don't want a Apple logo, black screen, then desktop transition.
