OS X Tiger Clean Install

Hello,

I have received a 2006 imac from a friend. I currently own a MBP running leopard. I did a clean install from tiger to leopard my self and had no problems.

My problem now is on this imac I received I would like to do a complete fully clean and install of tiger however when i insert the install disk I get an error message explaining that I cannot install this software (OS X Tiger 10.4) on this computer. I am using an install disk (OS X Tiger 10.) that came with the imac. I cannot understand what my problem might be.

If you can't install it, then the disks are the wrong disks for that computer.

The Gray disks are machine specific. Perhaps your friend got a different version iMac and think the disks will work with the iMac that you got.
