My new iMac with OS 10.4 got right on the internet perfectly out of the box. I have a linksys wireless router connected to cable modem and it got right on and I was surfing the web just great.

Then I installed Bootcamp and Windows.

Now, in OS X, my Mac sees the Linksys router just great (showing strong signal with all bars showing, etc), but when I open a browser it says no internet connectivity. It's possible the problem was caused by an update rather than bootcamp, but the problem developed sometime during a period when I wasn't booted into OS X for a long time bc was having to do all my work in Windows.

Why would I have wireless access in OS X, but internet access only in Windows?

Do you have your internet access password protected?

It may be that you need to put the password again, if so, make sure keychain remembers it.

no I have no security set up on the router whatsoever.

and it's set for DHCP
