On the track
I've order 10.5 and I want to do a fresh install. I want to keep 10.4 running because I need it for training reasons. So what I want to do it have a complete bootable backup of 10.4 running off an external hard drive and have 10.5 install on the MB. So if I wanted to boot into 10.4 I could just plug in the hard drive and boot it up.

Anybody have a good way I can do this? Any ideas?

You only need to make sure the drive is set to use a GUID Partition Table under Partition Options in Disk Utility.

It's a standard installation otherwise.

Cloning would work too.
