Ok, this is driving me insane. I just reconfigured a very basic install of OS9 designed solely to utilize some audio hardware that has no OSX drivers. I got that all working, but a very strange thing has happened--I'll insert an audio CD to rip a track from (it's a mastering set up), and the disc will auto-play, and I can't shut it off.

Here is the weirdest part: I don't have the old cd player application. At all. The cd shouldn't be playing in anything other than Cubase, which it isn't (keeps running whether Cubase is open or closed). Anyone have any idea what is going on?

It's been a while since I've used OS 9, but I seem to recall an option in the QuickTime control panel for automatically playing CDs using QT. Perhaps that is turned on.
