OSC V10.10 and Skype

I am running OS X v10.10.

I am about to install the latest version of Skype on my iMac, but I am forewarned of possible problems (e.g. "libflavors", etc.) that may cause the unit to crash. Furthermore, the installer wants access to my keychain and I am getting adware popups so I am reluctant to grant access. Skype community is terse and divided on what best to do.

Any thoughts or cautionary advice?

I haven't bothered with Yosemite (yet) will more than likely upgrade my mbp to it in the new year once apple iron out some of these issues i've been following on the forums. As to Skype... well since (the one that shall not be named) bought it out... adware is always going to be a problem simply because of who it's owners are.

The only thing i can suggest is that if your current version is still working then don't upgrade until the adware problem is either reduced or severely limited?
