OSX 10.9 Problem Find My Mac

In System Preferences > iCloud > Find My Mac is grayed out and underneath it reads, "Recovery partition required."

I have the same error, but I migrated my recovery partition onto an external card. I really want someone to figure it out. Why does it need the recovery partition? Can't we figure out how to get it to work with the native OS?
