OSX.2 + g3 powerbook = no battery charge

PROBLEM!

OSX.2 on my g3 laptop... plugged in it no longer takes a charge to the battery. Shut Down, Sleeping, anything. The green lights on the battery don't light up. This is a serious problem !!!!!

Any ideas ?!?!
