OSX and multiple displays

I have mac mini 2012 hooked up to two displays. A 24inch and a 20inch via mdp-hdmi and hdmi-hdmi.

Usually i will have VMware windows full screen on my 24inch and a safari on my 20inch. During this kinda setup, i use a shortcut to sleep displays (BetterTouchTool). However when i return from sleep-display i realised that my menu bar and all my apps in other spaces have moved to the 20inch. The vmware is still on my 24inch.

So is there any way to prevent osx from doing this switching? Because i dont see a option to "swap displays" in the system pref.
