For starters, I've browsed through the forums here and searched on google for this issue. I'm kinda a noob when it comes to network stuff, so that could be where I'm having an issue at. Anyways, I have my MBP pro that I would like to stream to my PS3 via the home network. My MBP is hooked up via wireless, my PS3 is wired. The network is through a qwest router. I'm not sure of the security settings or what the firewall status is. On vuze, I open the program up and it automaticially detects itunes (although i'm not sure how to play songs via itunes) but it doesn't detect the PS3. I do have the option on the PS3 set to on for the media connection server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I have the most current versions for the macbook, the ps3 and the router is a Actiontec PK 5000.

You don't need to use Vuze (which, admittedly, I'm not familiar with). There are a few applications that work specifically to serve your Mac media up to your PS3, including:

Rivet: http://thelittleappfactory.com/rivet/
Medialink: http://www.nullriver.com/products/medialink
Playback: http://www.yazsoft.com/products/playback/

I personally use Medialink, but it doesn't seem to work as smoothly since I upgraded to 10.6. I'm sure you can find reviews of the other apps with a Google search. Good luck!

So, I've tried both rivet and playback, no dice on getting the PS3 media server to recognize either. The firewall is off on my MBP, and file sharing enabled. Maybe I'm missing something for UPnP? I've looked through both forums on both of those apps, but nothing comes up.

I've solved my own problem. I plugged the network cable into my MBP from the router. Now, the issue I have is can I connect to a media server from wireless on my MBP and have my PS3 lan lined into the same router? If so, how?
