When you get a new MBP are you allowed to load the OSX software on another one of your computers? I have an iMac running 10.4.3 and it would be great to have them both using the same OS. Do I have to buy another copy or are you allowed to use it on 2 of your comps? ...or is it somehow bundled just to work on the laptop specifically?

Nope

It's not lawful, nor will it work. The recovery discs are model specific.

Nope, you are not allowed, you must buy a separate copy. Most Apple applications have a "Family Bundle" option that when you purchase the software, you could install it on 5 computers, just in case if you want to try that in the future.
